NOTE:  This on-line demonstration was created using Version2 of the software. We are now shipping Version 3, which operates in the same way, but with enhancements that expand its capabilities.

This self-guided animated tutorial describes how the Estimator works from a user’s perspective, with illustrations of the screens, dialog boxes and tool bars as well as a discussion of some the software’s key features. It was created using version 2.0 of the software. We are now shipping Version 3.0.3, which operates in the same way, but with enhancements that expand its capabilities.

Creating or Opening a Project

When you open the software a typical MS Application Program menu bar appears under the Athena - Athena Tree Control title bar (File, Insert .....View, Help) along with a set of more universal icons under the menu bar.

Root Pop-up
Click on the Root [R] command line above to activate a new vertical menu list

Immediately below the icon tool bar you will see the Athena Tree Control window which operates as a hierarchial viewer of all inputs into the software, allowing you to create and compare projects, insert assemblies, track your assembly inputs and modify them. Essentially the Athena Tree Control window allows you to perform all the logic operations offered on the main menu bar. For example, within the Athena Tree Control window you will see Athena's Root [R] command line highlighted ([R] ATHENA 2.0).

Clicking New Project in the right-click menu opens the "General Project Description" dialog.

Move the cursor over the image below and click anywhere on a new menu to simulate clicking New Project and creating a new project input file, or click the Forward button.
