Announcing a new software distribution arrangement

The Athena Institute has had a long-standing collaborative relationship with Morrison Hershfield Consulting Engineers.  In addition to working together for many years on building assessments and related projects, Morrison Hershfield has provided support services for the ATHENA® Impact Estimator for Buildings, the Institute’s LCA-based software for assessing the environmental effects of building structures and envelopes.

We have now extended that relationship to encompass software development and distribution.  Under our new agreement, Morrison Hershfield is working closely with the Institute to rewrite the Impact Estimator so that it can handle much larger life cycle inventory datasets and generate a wider range of impact indicators.

Morrison Hershfield has also contracted to act as distributor of the Impact Estimator, with the Athena Institute continuing to own the software and control its development.   The Institute also retains ownership and control of all relevant data and will of course continue to ensure data quality.
